Entabeni Safari Conservancy, situated within the Waterberg UNESCO Biosphere Reserve currently has a vacancy for a Game Manager. The Game Manager will report to the Entabeni Reserve Manager. Please note that this position is in a remote area (45mins to 1hr drive to the closest town).
Key responsibilities
Managing of staff of the reserve management department.
Managing security and anti-poaching teams.
Planning, building and maintenance of roads, fences and dams.
Preparation for fire breaks and controlled burns.
Plan and implement problem animal control.
Monitor the fauna & flora.
Maintenance of water pipes, pumps, boreholes and solar installations.
Rehabilitation of land (Erosion, river lines, old lands).
Plan and implement alien vegetation and bush encroachment control.
Monitoring game drives guides to adhere to reserve management rules.
Weekly & monthly reporting on the department.
Responsible for the vehicle and all other equipment issued to him/her. Including general maintenance.
Responsible for the asset register and stock takes monthly.
Assisting with conservation projects.
Assisting the Hospitality department on an ad-hoc basis.
General admin- timesheets, ordering of stock and report writing.
Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required for the job:
Diploma in Nature Conservation, Game Ranch Management, Nature Management.
2-5 years’ experience in a similar position.
Willing to work flexible hours and in various weather conditions.
No criminal record – SAPS Verification will be done.
Valid South African driver’s license.
4 x 4 Driving experience required.
Knowledge in operating and maintenance of farm equipment.
Firearm competency certificate required.
Anti-Poaching experience required.
Single person accommodation will be provided in Entabeni Game Reserve.
Knowledge of GPS and Google Earth.
Computer Literate.

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile and stationary equipment.
Inspect mobile and stationary equipment for defects or required repairs.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery.
Complete daily maintenance and repair job cards.
Order tools and machinery inventory parts.
Responsible for the asset register and stock takes monthly.
General admin- timesheets, ordering of stock and report writing.
Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required for the job:
Diesel Mechanic qualifications or a proven track record with contactable references.
5-10 years’ experience in a similar position.
Willing to work flexible hours and in various weather conditions.
No criminal record – SAPS Verification will be done.
Valid South African driver’s license. Code 14 license will be advantageous.
4 x 4 Driving experience required.
Required- good knowledge of repair and maintenance of farm equipment.

The Office Administrator will report to the Entabeni Reserve Manager. Please note that this position is in a remote area (45mins to 1hr drive to the closest town).
Key responsibilities
Computer work:
Monthly reports.
Asset Registers.
Leave registers and reports.
General administration- emails, invoice recons, report/document writing, payment requests, control over radio base station and handheld radios.
Fuel control:
Ordering fuel (petrol and diesel).
Dispensing fuel for Lower Escarpment.
Monthly recon of fuel usage.
Workshop:
Job cards for vehicle repairs.
Puncture repair register.
Ordering of parts/spares/consumables.
Stock takes.
Monthly vehicle inspections.
Logbook checks.
Vehicle service schedule.
Take control of the Operational Fire Control room in case of fires.
Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required for the job:
3-4 years’ experience in a similar position. If the position was on a reserve/farm this would be advantageous.
Willing to work under flexible conditions.
No criminal record – SAPS Verification will be done.
Valid South African driver’s license.
Diploma in Nature Conservation advantageous.
